The Summer I Met Jack A Novel Michelle Gable Books
Could Michelle Gable’s novel THE SUMMER I MET JACK be the best book for a Kennedy worshipping booklover? You bet. This book has it all. Intrigue, romance, and scandal. A woman who is running from her past and trying to create a new future, stumbles upon America's most celebrated family and their favorite son when she arrives in Hyannis Port. The handsome young man is smitten with this beautiful woman whose history is yet not known to him and when it is, well, his family won’t have any part of it.We’re talking the Kennedys, of course. Before young Jack is ready to stake his claim on the presidency. Part fact, part fiction. Supposedly, young JFK had an affair with the striking Alicia Corning Clark, formerly known as Barbara Kopszynska, among several other names, who came to the U.S. via Oklahoma, a displaced person, during the war, and temporarily served as a maid at the Kennedy compound.
The love is strong between the two and Gable writes a compelling saga for the two showcasing the terribly bad side of the Kennedy clan. Greed and power reign supreme. I knew nothing of the true story of Ms. Corning Clark, so this work of fiction made me fall down the rabbit hole of Google, as Gable so hoped her readers would do upon finishing her book. And what a book it is.

The Summer I Met Jack A Novel Michelle Gable Books Reviews
I was even more enlightened about the Kennedy family.
A very fun read! A little before my time but, this was a great little intro for me on the early adventures of the enigmatic Jack Kennedy and his first love Alicia.
I found that this book left me with many questions about JFK and Alicia Corning Clark. I have read many books on the Kennedys but had never heard anything about the love child they had together. A very good story that seems real!
I love reading about the Kennedys . This is a new take on part of JFK lifeand definitely describes his lifestyle.
Easy summer read choice for our ladies book club.
Lots of the ladies were familiar with the topic of the book. I was not.
It was disappointing to learn some of the not so nice Kennedy traits.
I was brought up Catholic and in High School when Jack was elected. The nuns canonized him before his time.
I've read quite a few historical fiction books and several lately have been about the Kennedy . I'd never heard anything about this woman or her relationship with Jack Kennedy. Very interesting and i am so glad I heard about this book from the Ninjas though i missed the ARC. I definitely recommend this¡
I really liked this book. It is fiction based on fact, and I would love to know where one stops and the other begins! Held my interest the entire time. Alicia is an extremely interesting character, in love with Jack most of her adult life. I've been a Kennedy follower most of my life, and this paints a very different picture of the entire family, particularly Rose, Bobby, and Jackie. I wasn't surprised by Jack or his father. One becomes very fond and attached to Alicia and her life's story. A truly interesting read and a very good book!
